Compare official travel advice before you go

Last updated July 2026

Official travel advice is useful, but it is scattered across government websites with different scales and wording. CheckRoam brings those sources together so you can compare them quickly and then verify the original advisory.

What we do

For each public destination we cover, we show official travel advice from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia side by side. We include the source link, advisory level where available, and review dates so you can see both the warning and its freshness.

Our current source set is:

  • United States U.S. State Department
  • United Kingdom FCDO
  • Canada Global Affairs Canada
  • Australia Smartraveller

Who this is for

This site is for people researching a trip before booking or travelling: tourists, families checking risk for relatives, business travellers, solo travellers, and anyone who wants a fast starting point before reading the full official advisory.

What we are not

  • We are not a government authority.
  • We are not an emergency service.
  • We are not a live news feed.
  • We do not give personalised legal, medical, insurance, or safety advice.

How we make editorial decisions

Our pages are source-backed and deliberately conservative. If a claim is not supported by an official advisory source, it should not appear as a safety conclusion. Our public methodology and editorial policy explain this boundary. Methodology · Editorial Policy

Corrections

If something looks outdated or wrong, use the Corrections Policy. We review reports against the original official sources before changing a public page. Corrections Policy
